This Privacy Policy explains how NickiMcCoy.com (the “Site”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the Site or contact us. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use a contact or booking form, subscribe, or email us, we collect the information you provide—such as your name, email address, organization, event details, and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and analytics tools, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you interact with the Site.
How we use your information
We use the information to respond to your messages and inquiries; to provide, maintain, and improve the Site and its content; to understand how visitors use the Site; to send information you request; and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
This Site uses cookies and Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic and improve the experience. Google may set cookies and process data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the Site may not work as intended if you do.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers who help us operate the Site—for example, our website host, email provider, and analytics provider—and where required by law or to protect our legal rights. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Not for protected health information (HIPAA)
This Site is a public educational platform and is separate from Nicki McCoy’s private counseling practice. Please do not submit protected health information (PHI), clinical details, or sensitive health information through any form on this Site. Information you send through the Site is not treated as confidential clinical or HIPAA-protected communication.
Data retention
We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to respond to you and for our legitimate business purposes, after which we delete or de-identify it, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have given us by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live—for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR—you may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of certain processing. We will honor applicable rights.
Colorado residents (Colorado Privacy Act). If you live in Colorado, you have the right to: confirm whether we process your personal data and access it; correct inaccuracies; delete your personal data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days (extendable as allowed by law). If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if the appeal is denied, you may contact the Colorado Attorney General.
Universal opt-out / Global Privacy Control. We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt that browser out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising.
Other states. Residents of California, Virginia, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights, which we honor where they apply. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is not yet a common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.
Children’s privacy
This Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date above.
